For teams

With AI, decision load went up.
Brain recovery didn’t.

Your team decides more than it did five years ago, faster, based on more information. The tools got quicker but human cognitive capacity didn’t evolve at the speed of AI.

In March 2026 Harvard Business Review published research by BCG and UC Riverside on what they call AI brain fry: mental fatigue from using, interacting with or overseeing AI tools beyond your own cognitive capacity. Of around 1,500 full-time workers surveyed at large US companies, 14% of those using AI at work reported it. They showed 33% more decision fatigue, made 39% more major errors, and 34% of them were actively looking to leave (vs 25% of everyone else).

What happens when people in your team are working past their cognitive capacity? Mental fog, slower decision making, difficulty focusing. Building future productivity has a cost to current productivity and employee satisfaction. Are you accounting for it?

How can you support your team as a leader? Teach people to recover the brain properly during the day. When employees have back problems from sitting all day, they know that every one hour they should stand up.

This is the same. For the brain.

Who runs it

Built by someone making decisions every day

Maria spent eleven years in corporate finance and strategic commercial engagements, first at EY and then at Amazon and AWS. Maria’s roles were always high-judgement, from strategic investment decisions to supporting CxO level opportunities in cloud computing, SaaS and Generative AI. At her last role in AWS, Maria was also the Subject Matter Expert for AI enablement and adoption. During this time, Maria felt the real meaning of cognitive fatigue while trying different models and tools at once and creating different agents in parallel to test and deploy further to the team. Getting at the end of the day more tired than before, Maria started reading more on the topic and used yoga to get a quick “reset” moment for the brain. Maria now dedicates time teaching others to recover from cognitive overload and keep a sustainable collaboration between AI and the human mind.

Maria has been teaching yoga since 2021 and did a total of 950 hours of Yoga Teacher Training in Portugal, UK and India.

How it works

Three ways to start

1. Half day workshop

What decision load actually is, what the evidence supports and what it does not, and why the standard advice under-performs for people whose work is cognitive. Ends with a practice the team can use whenever.

The usual starting point.

2. Recurring sessions online

A fixed slot, weekly or fortnightly, online 30 minutes. The team blocks the time in the calendar and it removes the decision of “what can I do today to unload my brain?”. Small groups, real corrections, modifications. Consistency beats one-offs.

Booked per semester or year.

3. Offsite collaboration

The method and the techniques land better when performed consistently over a period of days. If you are doing the offsite for your team, with the usual training and working sessions, the workshops would be added as multiple training sessions. I can suggest the Rise package – it includes 1h training session each morning with theory, practice and sharing / feedback for all days of the offsite. But we can collaborate and together come up with a solution that works better with the needs of your team at the moment.

The method

Based on Yoga and interoception

What it does. It trains: 1/ interoception, the ability to read your own internal state, 2/ techniques to unload the brain, 3/ nervous system regulation. All of these are real and trainable skills. The practical result is someone noticing the need to use one of the techniques as they reach a moment of cognitive overload or stress at level 5/10 when they can still reset and regulate instead of level 9/10 (the point where recovery takes much longer).

What it does not do. It does not reduce workload, fix a badly designed process, or replace clinical care.
